COACHES FAIR PLAY CONTRACT

As coaches, we facilitate a safe, fun and challenging environment to learn and play the great game of basketball. We have the potential to exert a powerful and lasting influence on young players. Our responsibilities extend beyond teaching skills and techniques to educating players about productive behaviors and attitudes. As role models, we provide an example of hard work, team play and respect for others. We lead our teams in sportsmanship and gracious winning and losing.  The model for this has to come from our own coach's behaviour.

We are reminded of the following important guidelines:

  • Physical contact with the players is prohibited.

  • Are mindful that players and parents view the coaches, expertise and instruction ability as important factors in determining whether or not to register or stay registered with the Club, parents and players flock to a good coach!
  • Be mindful of the concepts of equal play, balanced play and fair play and shall use their discretion wisely in allotting instruction, practice time and playing time to players, giving full consideration to Club policy at all times.
